Brittany has served in healthcare for over 15 years, with the majority of this time spent in quality improvement. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Murray State University in 2011. In 2016, she obtained a Master’s in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Administration from Western Kentucky University. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Grayson County Healthcare Foundation, a charitable foundation with an aim of improving the health of Grayson County residents. Prior to this, she served as the Director of Nursing, Quality, & Patient Safety at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center. Brittany also has experience in nursing administration, infection prevention, and accreditation. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality. Brittany has previously served KAHQ as Secretary and Western Chapter Lead.

Certified as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, Healthcare Accreditation Certified Professional, and has served on a clinical advisory workgroup for the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and currently sits on the DNV Healthcare Advisory Board Accreditation Committee.

Prior to transitioning to her current role in quality she had 10 years working within the Critical Care service line both at the bedside and as management focusing on implementing best practices to improve patient care.

Carrie has over 15 years of experience in emergency nursing and 12 years as a Paramedic. She holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Union College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of the Cumberlands, and an associate’s degree in nursing from Lincoln Memorial University. Her extensive clinical background is complemented by a strong passion for performance improvement and patient safety.

In her current role as a Sepsis Coordinator, Carrie leads initiatives focused on early identification, timely treatment, and process improvement for sepsis care within Baptist Health Corbin, and across her health system. She is actively engaged in data-driven quality improvement efforts and serves as a liaison between frontline staff and executive leadership to drive evidence-based practice. Known for her collaborative approach and keen eye for identifying system-level gaps, she is dedicated to advancing the mission of healthcare quality throughout the Commonwealth.

Served as a healthcare quality professional for over 30 years lending her experience in geriatrics, behavioral health, pediatrics, and women’s services. She has been a Certified Healthcare Quality Professional since 1992. She received her Masters in Business Administration with Healthcare focus in 2011 at Indiana Wesleyan University. She is a Certified Fellow, in Quality Improvement since 2018, by Kentucky Hospital Association. She holds a Green Belt, under Norton Healthcare’s Performance Improvement Leadership Program.

Shirley has accreditation and certification experience with The Joint Commission, DNV/NIAHO, Surgical Review Committee, American College of Surgeons, American College of Radiology, Society of Patient Safety, Baby Friendly USA, American College of Pathology, National Committee for Quality Assurance, Utilization Review Accreditation Commission, to name a few.

Received both a BSN and MSN from the University of Louisville and has been a nurse for 20 years, 16 of which was spent at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital. She was an Infection Preventionist for 10 years and then the Quality Manager for the remainder.

In July 2019, she moved to Northern KY to take a position at St. Elizabeth Healthcare as the System Director for Patient Safety, Accreditation, and Infection Control. She lives on a 25 acre farm with her husband of 20 years and her dog.

Acted as the Director of Infection Prevention and Employee Health at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, Kentucky. She earned her BSN at the University of Louisville and her MSN at Bellarmine University. She was a pediatric ICU nurse and CCRN for over 25 years and director of a large Pediatric ICU. During that time, she served as national faculty for the American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support program. She has also worked as a CNS for a large pediatric cardiology practice and as nurse consultant and nurse faculty for the Children’s Hospital Association’s Quality Transformation Network and the National Pediatric Cardiology Improvement Collaborative.

Deb also has 15 years experience as a legal nurse consultant and has co-authored papers on Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections, pediatric codes and pediatric sepsis collaborative work.

She is currently serving on the Steering Committee for the Children’s Hospital Association (CHA) Improving Pediatric Sepsis Outcomes Collaborative.

A charter member of KAHQ since its formation in 1990 and a Certified Healthcare Quality Professional (CPHQ) since 1994.  Currently employed by the state behavioral health authority for almost two and one-half (2½) decades where his functions as healthcare quality professional. An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) (PMHNP-BC), as well as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a MSN and MA in Clinical Psychology.

A nurse for over three and one-half (3½) decades, all in psychiatric/mental health nursing with a focus in holistic health and total wellness including spiritual health. Clinical experience has been in acute, semi-acute, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient therapy (IOP) and outpatient (OP) treatments in mental illness and chemical dependency.  Also, a parish-based outpatient psychotherapist for individuals, couples, and families covering eight (8) churches over as many rural Kentucky counties, and an ordained deacon in the Roman Catholic Church.

Rochelle Beard is a registered nurse and infection preventionist with career experience in pediatrics, acute and long-term care, employee health, quality improvement, leadership, and education.

Rochelle obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Xavier University in 2009 and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a public health emphasis in 2016, which led her into the field of infection prevention. Over the course of the next five years, Rochelle grew the infection prevention and control programs in two healthcare facilities in the Louisville, Kentucky area.   Through her leadership, she has been able to serve as a resource to hundreds of infection preventionists across the state of Kentucky by providing education, creating tools and resources, promoting collaboration and broad-scoped engagement, and relationship building. She has gained expertise in guiding and implementing programs funded through federal agencies and how those programs demonstrate value and accountability.

Laura has served as Clinical Outcomes Manager at Baptist Health La Grange for 2 years, supporting clinicians and staff in the achievement of excellent hospital metrics. Prior to her role within Quality,  she served at Robley Rex VAMC for 11 years in leadership roles such as the Chief Nurse for Specialty Care, Designated Learning Officer, House Manager, and Nurse Manager for the Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit. She also practiced as a pediatric intensive care nurse at Kosair’s Children’s Hospital. She has served as Adjunct Faculty at Bellarmine University off and on since 2009. She achieved a Theology degree from Bellarmine in 2003, a BSN in 2004, and an MSN in Executive Leadership in 2014. She is currently pursuing a PMHNP at Bellarmine University with plans to graduate in the Summer of 2026. She is also progressing through a Doctor of Business from Franklin University. Laura also serves her church community, leading women through trauma recovery. She has a passion for coaching and mentoring others to success in both career and personal aspirations. She hopes to soon provide support and healing to those suffering in her community, using a holistic and lifestyle management approach to overall wellness.

She has 20 years of nursing experience dedicated to improving the delivery of safe and quality patient care, with the last 15 years being directly involved in quality improvement in the acute care setting. Amanda has an additional role as the Sepsis Coordinator at Saint Joseph London and is on the Ky Sepsis Consortium Steering Committee. She received her BSN from the University of the Cumberlands. She became a Certified Fellow in Quality Improvement in 2018 by the Kentucky Hospital Association in partnership with CMS, and has been a Certified Healthcare Quality Professional since 2020. Amanda previously served as Secretary and President of KAHQ as well as Bluegrass Chapter Lead.
