CE Presentation Handouts
As a benefit to members, KAHQ offers regular professional continuing education (CE). KAHQ believes that CE is important for several reasons. Firstly, CE help members grow professionally (including required CEs for licensures and/or certifications) and personally. Additionally, CE help members acquire new skills and knowledge that can prepare for new responsibilities and opportunities. Finally, it may increase members’ chances of getting promotions and higher salaries. Employers often recognize the effort and time put into improving and reward accordingly. It can also help transition to new careers or improve marketability.
Typically, KAHQ offers pre-approved CEs by:
- The National Association for Healthcare Quality’s (NAHQ) Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) – As of of March 9, 2022, of the thirty (30)-CE hours in two (2)-year recertification cycle, eight (8)-hours must be NAHQ-approved educational offerings (sixty [60]-minutes equal one [1]-CE hour).
- The Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) – All RNs and LPNs, pursuant to Kentucky Administrative Regulation 201 KAR 20:215, must have validation of CE/competency that can include proof of earning fourteen (14) approved contact hours (fifty [50]-minutes equal one [1]-contact hour).
